BIKE SAFETY RESOURCES
THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION
The NHTSA is a one of the best sources of information for bike safety. This site has resources for parents and children, cyclists and motorists. Everyone should bookmark this site and visit it frequently.
THE US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
The DOT’s Federal Highway Administration site is most useful for city planners, community leaders and advocacy groups. If you want to know how infrastructure impacts bike safety, this is a good place to start.
THE LEAGUE OF AMERICAN BICYCLISTS
The League has been educating riders about bike safety since the 1970’s. It’s website is full of helpful information including videos, guides, and tip sheets. If you’re more of a hands on learner, you can use the Find A Class section of their website to locate a course near you.
Although it’s most closely associated with motoring and automobiles, AAA has a great section on their website dedicated to bicycle safety. They have infographics, downloadable PDFs, and safety videos.
